PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

 

Prior to moving to North Queensland in March 1998, Jane and Andrew Jehne, the co-founders of Jungle Nook Studio, both lead active roles within the art and design industry in the Hunter and Sydney regions of New South Wales.

Jane Jehne (nee Brodsky) has used her formal qualifications in Visual Arts and Graduate diploma in Illustration to make a large contribution to the arts community. Her accomplishments included numerous exhibitions and commissions, as well as employment as lecturer in plant & wildlife illustration and graphic design at the University of Newcastle.

Jane's success and demand as an artist and illustrator can be attributed to her attention to detail, professionalism and innovation. Her artwork has been described as the perfect blend of creativity and accurate research. This demonstrated excellence in her field has allowed Jane to undertake many important positions and commissions. Some of these include:

As well as dedicating time to public art projects, Jane developed her artistic practice exploring many styles and use of materials. Her work has been exhibited in over fifteen solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia. Throughout this period Jane operated a successful freelance business, producing artwork and designs for both domestic and commercial clients.

After graduating with a degree in Industrial Design, Andrew gained employment in the competitive Sydney design industry, working on projects as diverse as exhibition design, shop fit out and museum displays. This process allowed Andrew the opportunity to gain experience in project management, client liaison and design documentation. Some of the many projects Andrew has worked on include:
